Top rated advice tech providers

By Heather Hopkins | 30 September 2026 | 3 minute read

Each year, NextWealth asks hundreds of financial advice professionals to rate the technology they use every day. The result is our Advice Tech Stack report, and from it, seven 2026 champions. Champions are chosen on adviser review scores alone, whether or not the provider is a NextWealth client.

Huge congratulations to Fundment, P1, Quilter, Scottish Widows and AJ Bell, this year’s platform tech champions.

  • Fundment — the highest-rated platform in the report scored 0.28 points clear of second place (on a five point scale), and the only platform to score 4 or above on every criterion in all four years it’s appeared in our rankings.
  • P1— the only other platform to score 4 or above across all four criteria.
  • Quilter— the second-largest platform in our sample by assets under advice, rated 4 or above for value for money, support provided and willingness to recommend
  • AJ Bell – the most improved platform, the platform’s user review scores jumped 0.53 to reach 3.97 (out of 5.00). The platform was awarded a 4 or above for support provided and value for money.
  • Scottish Widows— the second most-improved platform this year, up 0.36 on its three-year average, and rated above the platform average on all four criteria.

Outside of platforms, we recognise Microsoft Copilot and Voyant as tech champions.

  • Microsoft Copilot— the highest-rated and fastest-growing tool for meeting notes and summaries, now used by 38% of advisers who use one, up from 30% last year.
  • Voyant— the most-used cashflow modelling tool for the first time since we began tracking the category in 2020. Voyant scored over 4.0 on willingness to recommend and support provided.

Champions are named on adviser review scores alone: no client relationship, no sponsorship. Providers need at least 20 reviews to be eligible, and must score 4.00 or above overall — or, where no provider in a category clears that bar, the highest-rated provider scoring 4.00 or above on at least one criterion.

These results are a small part of a much bigger picture. Our full Adviser Tech Stack report covers platforms, back-office systems, client portals, cashflow modelling, risk profiling and meeting note tools — where adoption is growing, where integration still frustrates advisers, and what’s driving platform choice.
