Cost of financial advice in the UK

How much does financial advice cost in the UK? Typically financial advisers charge based on a percentage of assets. There is the cost of on-going advice, funds, the platform on which funds are held and sometimes portfolio management fees.
Based on a survey of over 300 financial advice professionals, NextWealth research shows that the average overall cost of investing through a financial adviser in the UK is 168 basis points (or 1.68%). The average cost of advice is 67 basis points (or 0.67%).
There are significant differences by region – as the charge below shows, the cost of advice in London is highest, but the overall cost of investing is highest in Yorkshire and the Humber.
