The cost of acquisition

Firms looking to sell charge 8 basis points below average while firms looking to purchase are charging 14 basis points above average. On-going advice fees are the largest contributor to the discrepancy.

The difference in fees may cause acquirers difficulty in moving client assets from acquired firms.
